Abstract:
A balanced-energy clustering scheme(BECS) is proposed which is based on the energy consumption model in multi-hop wireless sensor networks.According to the geometric programming theory, this scheme adjusts the probability of a node to become a cluster-head,and controls the size of each cluster by using the energy level of the cluster-head and the distance vector from the sink. The simulation results show that, compared with the HEED(hybrid,energy-efficient,distributed clustering approach) protocol, this scheme improves the network life-time and stable-time up to 21% and 40% respectively.
