Abstract: The detecting of stiffness is important to the efficient and reliable ditital simulation.In this paper,three methods of detecting stiffness were studied.They are:spectral radius estimating method;method of imbeding low order large stability region formula;and small stability region detecting method which was proposed by authors.The proposed methods were successfully used in the automatic switch sequences,and were proved to be quite effective.
