Abstract: This paper presents a fuzzy control approach for a traffic intersection, which is a hierarchical fuzzy control approach, according to the actual situation of urban traffic system and the vehical flow informations in four directions of a single intersection. A hierarchical fuzzy controller has been designed. Computer simulations show that the results are satisfactory.
