Abstract: In this paper a new recursive gradient algorithm and a structure-adaptive self-tuning recursive predictor are given for nonlinear variable-structure systems.The algorithm can change the structure of models automatically.Our prediction practice in an oil field reveals that the predictor can follow the varying structure of a system and improve the prediction accuracy.
