Abstract: In this paper the problem of task-mixing ratio for long-term planning in FMS is discussed and ahierarchical structure of two levels is presented.At the lower level the method proposed by Gershwin¹ is used to obtain the frequencies of set-ups,and at the upper level the task-mixing ratio for the overallsystem is determined so as to increase the productivity of the system.
