Abstract:
Based on a three-phase four-switch inverter, we propose a model of predictive current control (MPCC) strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive systems with a model reference adaptive system (MRAS) observer. Because stator resistance varies with temperature change, we design an MRAS observer to identify stator resistance online. In order to reduce the average switching frequency of the inverter, switch frequency optimization is taken into account in the design of the MPCC cost function. Numerical simulation results illustrate that the proposed MPCC enables the whole system to run stably, decreases the average switching frequency of the inverter, shows strong robustness with respect to stator resistance, and consequently achieves satisfactory torque and speed control.
