Abstract:
In this paper, a survey of genetic algorithm's application in the field of automatic control in recent years is thoroughly presented. Firstly, genetic algorithm and its improvements are introduced briefly. Then a range of applications in system identification, model reduction, optimal control, linear and nonlinear systems, sliding mode control, robust control, fuzzy logic control, neural network control and adaptive control are reviewed. Both merits and drawbacks of genetic algorithm and traditional optimizing methods are discussed. Finally further research fields are suggested.
