基于小波零树结构的一种图像压缩

An Image Compression Based on Wavelet Zerotree

  • 摘要: 本文分析了图像小波分解系数的特点及零树结构,提出了一种基于小波零树结构的图像压缩编码方法,描述了小波图像矩阵及多分辨率、多方向的矩阵元素,给出了求取每个子带中最大绝对值小波系数及忽略此子带引起的均方误差计算公式,定义了编码结构,并用Lena图对该编码方法进行仿真实验.仿真结果与EZW编码方法进行比较,结果表明:此方法在相同的PSNR下,获得了较高压缩比,具有较好性能.

     

    Abstract: An image compression method based on the features of image wavelet decomposition coefficient and zerotree structure is proposed in this paper. The matrix of wavelet image and the multiresolution matrix elements are depicted too. The encoding structure and the expressions which calculate the maximal absolute value of each subband wavelet coefficient and the mean square error ignoring this subband are given. With a Lena image of 512×512×8, the simulation is carried out. The results are compared with those of EZW. With the same peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR), this method gains obviously higher compression ratio and has better performance.
