Abstract: The significance of architecture for developing large:cale automation system is at first described,and then the analyses of architecture from various points of view(life-circle,hierarchical control,and three fundamental components of automatic control system)are given. The requirments of platform forreference models are disctissed next in the paper,The full process architecture of automatiOn for large scaleprocess industries is proposed and its guiding role played in the project(85-720-08) is also mentioned,
