Abstract: The target identity identification of the early warning and surveillance system is a popular but difficult issue for domestic and foreign scholars.In this paper,the developments of target identity identification methods are fully summarized and the shortages of each algorithm are compared with those of the other algorithms.Especially the methods of uncertain reasoning are analyzed in detail.Based on this analysis,some issues to be solved and some potential research directions are presented.Clear thoughts for further investigations of the target identity identification are provided.
