Abstract:
In the previous study of time delay filter insensitivity, most work has addressed only frequency modeling errors. In this paper, we consider modeling errors in damping as well and define a total insensitivity measure that incorporates both frequency and damping modeling errors. An analysis of several types of time delay filters show a different ordering in terms of their total insensitivity to frequency and damping modeling errors compared to previous studies. The acceptable vibration level sensitivity contours of various filters propose an effective and simple way to determine whether a rectangular uncertainty region is encompassed in the sensitivity contour.
