一种基于视觉显著性的边缘检测算法

Edge-Detection Algorithm Based on Visual Saliency

  • 摘要: 提出了一种基于视觉显著性的边缘检测算法.面向红外场景图像需求,所提算法首先使用Canny进行边缘检测,然后融合3种基本边缘特征:边缘两侧对比度、边缘密度和边缘长度,提取出红外图像中视觉显著性边缘.所提算法有效地抑制了背景和纹理虚假边缘,突出了目标边缘信息,为自动目标识别系统提供质量较好的边缘图像.实验结果证实了本文算法的有效性.

     

    Abstract: An edge-detection algorithm based on visual saliency is proposed. First, for an infrared-scene image, the proposed algorithm detects the edges using a Canny edge detector. Then, three basic edge features are integrated, including the edge contrast, edge density, and edge length. Finally, the visual salient edges are extracted from the infrared image. The proposed algorithm effectively suppresses false edges from the background and texture, highlights the information of the target edges, and provides good-quality edge images for automatic target recognition system. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.
