Natural Gas Networks Transient State Optimization Based on Time Layers' Independence and Dynamic Programming Method

  • The dynamic programming method is inefficient at solving the natural gas network transient state optimal problems known as the curse of dimensionality and the non-aftereffect property. To improve the solving efficiency, dynamic optimization mathematic models are analyzed, and a type of time-layers independent approach is proposed. The multiple time-layers transient state optimal problems could be transformed into a series of independent, single time-layer optimal problems. The adaptive dynamic programming method is applied to obtaining the optimum solution. The simulation results show that the suggested approach, which avoids the curse of dimensionality and non-aftereffect property, simplifies the solution process and improves the solving efficiency.
