Position Information Field Direct Position Determination for Multiple Targets

  • Existing position information field location methods for multiple targets first measure the parameters and then locate the targets. We propose a location method, called the position information field direct position determination for multiple targets, which is based directly on sampling data. This method uses time- or frequency-domain sampling data to directly calculate the position information field for each observation, and the calculated results are then sent to the location center to obtain the position of multiple targets through fusion processing. This method requires no measurement of target parameters, such as the direction of arrival (DOA). Compared with the direct position determination (DPD) method, our proposed method avoids the need to transmit a large volume of signal data to the location center. The simulation results show that the proposed method's positioning performance is superior to that of the traditional position information field location method that uses DOA, and has a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a more stable performance.
