Abstract
A double detection scheme of the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) quadratic difference and node trust value is adopted for solving the Sybil attack problem affecting the industrial wireless sensor networks (IWSN). First, the high-energy nodes cooperate to detect the Sybil attack in the general node by checking whether the RSSI quadratic difference of ordinary nodes is lower than the detection threshold. Secondly, based on the number of successful interactions and the number of unsuccessful interactions between high-energy nodes, the base station calculates the trust value of each high-energy node and determines whether the high-energy node has been subjected to the Sybil attack by assessing whether the trust value of each high-energy node is higher than the trust threshold. The simulation results showed that the proposed scheme could efficiently detect Sybil attacks in IWSN; it also guarantees a lower false alarm rate and missing alarm rate and has an improved detection accuracy.
