Abstract
To realize maximum traffic service efficiency of an area in mid-saturated traffic conditions, a multiobjective model for area coordinated control is presented based on saturation, throughput, and delay time. First, the cycle is optimized according to the saturation model of critical interaction, and the cycle is used as the common cycle for the sub-area. Second, for each unit of interaction, the green time of the intersection is optimized by the comprehensive target model, which incorporates the throughput and delay time models. Finally, the offset of adjacent intersections is optimized taking neighboring intersection in the sub-area as unit and taking the total delay time at neighboring intersection in the sub-area as the objective function. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is an effective method for area coordinated control in mid-saturated traffic conditions, with some adaptability.
