Automatic Gauge Control (AGC) for the Hot Strip Mill with Pressure Feedback from the Hydraulic Cylinder

In this paper,a new automatic gauge control with pressure inside the hydraulic cylinder as the rolling force parameters in the renovation of the 1700 mm steckel reversing hot strip mill is described.We have analyzed the difference between the pressure inside the hydraulic cylinder and that from the load cell,and discussed what correspond measures should be taken in the use of pressure signal from the hydraulic cylinder.Finally,results from long field run are given.
