QUASI-SLIDING MODE ADAPTIVE CONTROL OF OPTICAL DISC DRIVE

A quasi-sliding mode adaptive control method is presented for an optical disc drive servo system. The adaptive controller is shown to be effective in improving disc drive track-following ability and system stability in the existence of noises and disturbances. Simulation and experiment results are presented to illustrate the features of the control scheme.
