Abstract
The hierarchical control method of virtual axis NC machine tools is presented and the first level of the hierarchical control system is emphatically discussed. This level deals with the task of real-time planning of tool motion state and involves three key problems, which are cutting path generation, tool path calculation and tool attitude planning. The solving processes of the three problems are given. These results lay a foundation for the research and development of the numerical control system of virtual axis machine tools.
