LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN CONTROL ARCHITECTURES FOR MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS

The research and development of control architectures for manufacturing systems has been an important issue in automation and advanced manufacturing fields. This paper introduces the developments of manufacturing architectures within the latest ten years and gives some important results both in agent-based control architectures and holonic manufacture control architectures. Finally, some possible future research works in these areas are proposed.
