Modeling of Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) with an Analysis of Example

FMS,as a discrete-event system,can be described by sequence matrices for sched-uling problem of production process.By means of max-algebra and operational analysis method a“Linear”model of FMS can be set up.We use a simplified example toshow how to analyze production rate and how to calculate eigenvalues of the system.The utilization of machines and sensitivities to processing parameters are also investi-gated in this paper.
