EQUAL LENGTH CODING METHOD OF BINARY TEXT IMAGE COMPRESSION

A new coding method of image compression is presented.This method has the following advantages:(1)It depends on run-length,every code has the same lengthof 8 bits;(2)The Longest run-length covered by this method is 2048;(3)Coding anddecoding can be performed very easily and quickly;(4)It is especially suitable forcompressing text image,with coding rate of about 1∶8;(5)It has better property ofnoise immunity when compared with Huffman coding.
