Abstract
Generic model control(GMC) is a nonlinear process control method, which was developed from 1988. The GMC is simple and practical, and has strong robustness against model uncertainty. Moreover it can achieve the similar results as those of the differential geometric approach, therefore it has been got widely application in the past 9 years. This paper presents the state-of-the-art of this control method, and points out some open problems in this area.
