Abstract
A production scheduling system for parallel machines in an electrical appliance plant is developed. The construction and data interface of system is given. The scheduling problem is formulated as scheduling batch jobs with setup time on parallel machines to minimize the total tardiness penalties. A rule based heuristic approach is presented. The results show that it can greatly raise the production efficiency and the rate of jobs on time.
