  • In this paper we arrange the faults ordinarily occured in multi-variable control systems under two cate-gories:(1)invalidity of ith sensor,(2)invalidity of jth actuating mechanism.We take linear time-invariant system as object of investigation,formulate a mathematical model for fault systems,and present a stability criterion which the controller must satisfy.And thereby we provide a theoretical basis for failure-tolerant systemdesign.
